Measure your progress with the Weights Tracker logbook

Centr Team

Our Weights Tracker allows you to track your weights, reps, and timed exercises on all Self-Guided workouts – so you can see your progress as it happens!

Knowing when to lift heavier and increase volume is key to strength training success, which is why tracking your workouts with weights and reps is vital. Tracking is also a great way to build and maintain motivation, and to ensure you’re continuing to advance with your training.

To start tracking your progress, simply click the notepad icon at the bottom of your self-guided workout, then 'Add Log'.

With this feature, you can…

  • Log an exercise as you complete it: adjust the weights used and reps performed.
  • Increase or decrease load: weights automatically default to the last weight logged for each exercise.
  • View your progress at a glance: see the last 3 times you performed an exercise.
  • Track your transformation: logs are stored forever in your Logbook.
  • Log in your language: weights can be logged in pounds or kilograms.

We’ll continue to improve the Weights Tracker feature – keep your app up to date to make sure you’re accessing the latest version.

Track your weights and reps in any Self-Guided workout – and watch the gains roll in!

Q. How do I log weights and reps for an exercise?

A. You can log weights and reps as you complete an exercise in any Self-Guided workout using Weights Tracker.

Here’s how to get started:

  • Click the notepad icon at the bottom of your screen to enter the ‘log view’ on your workout.

  • Click ‘Add Log’ to enter your weights and reps.

  • The log will default to the last weight you entered and the number of reps (if any) specified in the workout.

  • Adding a log will pause the workout. Press play when you’re ready to move on.

  • To view, edit or delete the logs you have made for an exercise, click the Logbook button.

Note: When in ‘log view’ on the app, you will only see the exercise you are up to and the last 3 logs entered for that exercise. You can return to viewing the full workout by clicking the list icon at the bottom right of the screen.

Q. What can I add a log to?

A. You can only log weights and reps for an exercise in a Self-Guided workout.

Q. Can I log weights/reps during a Coached workout?

A. For now, logging with the Weights Tracker is only available for Self-Guided workouts.

Q. How do I save my logs?

A. Weights Tracker logs are saved differently if you’re using the app or the Centr.com website.

  • On the app: logs are saved once you complete a workout.

  • On the web: logs are saved as soon as you click ‘Save’ after entering your weights and/or reps.

Q. What happens when my workout gets interrupted? Do I lose all my logs?

A. When using the iOS or Android app, your Weights Tracker logs will only be saved once you have marked a workout as complete.

If you’re using Weights Tracker on the web at Centr.com, your weights and reps will only be stored once you have saved that log. So make sure your computer is fully charged before you work out!

Q. Can I default to a specific unit of measurement when it comes to weights?

A. Weights Tracker will default to the Measurement Units (imperial or metric) you have selected in your Centr settings. If you are using a different set of weights or a gym uses different measurements, you can switch between lb and kgs on any exercise you are logging. Weights Tracker will remember the last measurement you selected for your next workout.

Q. How do I see my log history before I start a workout?

A. When viewing the summary of a workout, before you start the session click on 'Logbook' to view the last 3 logs for each of the exercises included in the workout. This is useful for preparing the right weights before you begin training!

Q. Why can I see logs recording time for a reps exercise?

A. Exercises may be timed in one workout and assigned reps in another, e.g. 40 sec of bicep curls in a Luke workout and 12 reps in a Torre workout.

When a log includes a time, it’s because the exercise you were completing was timed.

Q. Can I compare all logs I made for one type of exercise?

A. Yes. For example, the logs you save for bicep curls in a Luke workout will also appear alongside the bicep curls you logged for a Torre workout.

To view your logs for a particular exercise, start a Self-Guided workout, select the exercise, and tap Logbook.

Q. Why can’t I track the weights I used for the modifications shown in the workout?

A. While some Muscle Building workouts contain inset modifications as alternatives to gym equipment, for now, you can only log your performance for the main exercise specified in the workout.

Q. How many of my previous logs can I see during the workout?

A. During a workout, you can view the last 3 logs recorded for the exercises in that workout.

To see more than the previous 3, click Logbook to see all logs you have recorded for each exercise. These logs are sorted by date, along with a description of the related workout.

Q. Can I default my Self-Guided workouts to always show the logging screen?

A. This function is not currently available. All Self-Guided workouts will appear with the classic screen showing all the exercises until you click the notepad icon.

Q. Can I sort my logs by weight, reps, workouts or programs?

A. Not yet! Our team is working on expanding the Weights Tracker feature, so stay tuned.
