The 3-day rule: Rest, Reflect, Reframe
Before you jump into your next training block, take 72 hours to reset your system and your mindset. In that time, focus on three things:
- Rest your body – walk, eat, nap, repeat. Let your system reset.
- Reflect – What felt strong? What challenged you? What surprised you?
- Reframe – You don’t necessarily need a new race yet. But you do need direction.
Recovery isn’t a step back. It’s a power move.
This phase is where serious athletes lay the foundation for everything that comes next. Over the next two weeks, your job is to rebuild with a smart blend of:
Restorative mobility
Light strength work
Steady-state runs
