Beef Burger with Salad

1⁄2 onion thinly sliced
200g ground beef
1 tsp Italian dried herbs
salt & pepper, to taste
2 tbs cheddar cheese grated or sliced
2 whole grain/whole wheat rolls, medium (2 1/2 oz ea) (or gluten free) cut in half horizontally
2 iceberg lettuce leaves shredded
2 tsp sriracha sauce (chilli garlic sauce) optional
1 medium tomato sliced
Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes until caramelized and tender. Transfer to a plate.
Meanwhile, combine beef and herbs. Form into patties and season with salt and pepper. Cook one side for 3-4 minutes. Flip and top with cheese. Cook for a further 3 minutes until patties are cooked and cheese has melted. Remove from heat.
To assemble burgers, place lettuce on the base of each roll. Top with patties, onions, sriracha, tomato slices and other half of the roll to serve.
