Maple Coffee Smoothie

2 tsp instant coffee
2 tbs water hot
1 1⁄2 cups (380ml) milk, reduced fat (or dairy-free alternative)
1⁄2 cup (60g) vanilla protein powder (or natural protein powder)
4 tbs rolled oats (or brown rice flakes or quinoa flakes if gluten free)
4 tsp maple syrup (honey or rice malt syrup)
4-6 ice cubes
1⁄2 tsp cocoa powder (or cacao powder) for dusting (optional)
Dissolve coffee in hot water (or use a shot of espresso).
Add to blender with all the other ingredients (except cocoa) and blend on high until smooth and creamy. (You may need to add a little water depending on how thick your protein powder is.)
Transfer to a glass and dust with cocoa to serve.
