Gut Health Berry Smoothie

Flaxseed and berries provide prebiotics, while yogurt is fortified with probiotics. The fact it's delicious is just a bonus! This recipe has been adapted from Angie's book Fuel Your Body: How to Cook and Eat for Peak Performance.

1 1⁄2 cups (380ml) milk, reduced fat (or dairy-free alternative)
3 tbs Greek yogurt (or dairy-free alternative)
1⁄2 cup (60g) vanilla protein powder (or natural protein powder)
4 tsp flaxseeds ground
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup (40g) baby spinach leaves optional
1⁄2 cup (80g) frozen mixed berries
1 medium banana frozen
Blend all ingredients on high until smooth and creamy and serve immediately.
Note: You may need to add a little water depending on the thickness of your protein powder.
