High-carb Apple Pie Smoothie

This is a high-carb smoothie created specifically to fuel training for HYROX or other high-performance athletic events with increased carbohydrate demands. Packed with energy, it will provide the extra boost needed for optimal high-intensity performance.

2 cups (500ml) oat milk (or dairy alternative)
1 cup (100g) quick oats (or brown rice flakes or quinoa flakes if gluten free)
4 tbs vanilla protein powder (or natural protein powder)
2 apples peeled, cored & chopped
2 tsp maple syrup (honey or rice malt syrup)
1 tsp ground cinnamon
4-6 ice cubes
Blend all ingredients on high until smooth and creamy and serve immediately.
Note: You may need to add a little water depending on the thickness of your protein powder.
