Ingredients

34 cup (75g) rolled oats (or brown rice flakes or quinoa flakes if gluten free)

1 12 cups (375ml) water

pinch of salt

12 cup (125ml) milk, reduced fat (or dairy-free alternative)

14 cup (30g) vanilla protein powder (or natural protein powder)

1 tbs cocoa powder (or cacao powder) plus extra for dusting

2 tsp maple syrup (honey or rice malt syrup)

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 medium banana half mashed & half sliced

Add oats, water and salt to a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a gentle simmer.

Add milk and stir constantly for 6-7 minutes or until oats have thickened and cooked through.

Remove from heat and stir through protein powder, cocoa, maple syrup, vanilla and mashed banana.

Divide between bowls and serve topped with sliced banana and a dusting of cocoa.
